A gunner on the water, where the evil ones are fought,
If I'd thought that she might perish, well, perish the thought.
It's not as though I don't love you anymore,
I just keep myself from drowning by waiting on the shore.

Well I'd rather stick a cactus in the hole meant for my eye,

Well I might go to my shift at the chain brand name café
But I'll probably just pass away.

Robot Friend

I'm gonna build myself a robot friend
From a bin and an old PC.
An RC car and a couple of servos,
I'll program him to be all I need.
Gonna go to the beach together
And get season tickets for the footy.
He's gonna have fun with me
'Cos he knows that that's his duty.
Gonna make him self-aware,
But not too self-aware,
Cos then he might get scared and doubt himself
And I'd never get him out of the house.
I'm gonna build myself a robot friend and keep him company.
Maybe he'll have robot friends who we'll have round for tea.
I'd cook a massive pizza, or roast a leg of lamb.
But they're more into processed food so I'll deep-fry them some RAM.
I'm gonna pray he loves me too,
From the bottom of his CPU.
Robot friend and me forever.

Why does it wait if it thinks there’s no hope?
It’s levelling out but continues to slope.
It’s numb but it’s thankful it knows how to cope.
How can it mend if it don’t know it’s broke?
Lights on, nobody home,
Nobody knows where the dead people go
When they’re passing away so incredibly slow,
Lights on, nobody home.
It already failed, it already tried,
Naked and shaking with thunderous tide.
It knows it survived but it doesn’t know why.
How can it die if it already died?
It waits for the end as it twiddles it's thumbs.
It begs for release but release never comes.
It’s drowning it's memory in cider and rum.
It turns up the speaker to drown out the hum.
